Recently, I lost a person that meant a lot to me. And in losing him, it closed a chapter of my life that I was not really ready to close.
My Grandpa was so many things to so many different people. Words can't really describe how much he loved everyone he was acquainted with, family or not. He was a great friend, a loving father, the best grandpa, a military man, and much more. To me he was all of the above and a hero; one of the strongest men I know. He's probably looking over us thinking he failed his family and Grandma by leaving too early, but we all know that isn't true. He made each of us stronger and able to care for each other, and because of that he succeeded and I thank him.
He once told me after I lost a big wrestling match in high school, "Kyle, you gotta lose some to be a winner." Now, that we lost him I know he would want us to carry on and become stronger, moving on to the next chapters of our lives.
Love yas, Grandpa.
