William Young's Obituary
William "Billy" E. Young, 59, of Clinton, died Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Monday, February 4, 2008 at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church with Bill Michaelsen officiating. Burial will be in the Center Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Lauritzen, Jason Young, Baird Smith, Mike Smith, Kevin Smith, Mark Smith, and Eloy Mares. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-5:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
William Eugene Young was born on July 22, 1948 in Clinton, the son of Curtis and Marvel (Eggers) Young.
Bill was employed with the Skyline Center workshop. He was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. He competed in Special Olympics, enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, bowling, and his John Deere collection.
Bill is survived by two sisters: Janis Lauritzen of Fort Collins, Colorado and Karen (Eloy) Mares of Fort Collins, Colorado, one brother Steven (Sharla) Young of Camanche, Iowa.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Skyline Center or Special Olympics.
