William Crigger's Obituary
William “Bill” L. Crigger, 83, of Clinton, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at his home. Services will be 10:30am, Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Troy Crigger, Chad Crigger, Nathan Fuller, Eric Soenksen, Joe Soenksen, Brady Crigger, Andrew Crigger, and Dustin Crigger. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the granddaughters: Kelli Bennett, Breanna Crigger, and Bailey Crigger. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. William Lloyd Crigger was born on February 7, 1926 in Switchback, West Virginia, the son of Joe Mack and Rebecca (Mitchell) Crigger. He married Joyce Louise Simpkins on December 18, 1948 in Tazewell, Virginia. Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II from May 25, 1944 until discharged July 21, 1946. Bill worked in the coal mines of West Virginia until moving to Clinton in 1960. He worked at Champion Packaging until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping and sitting around talking with family & friends. Bill is survived by his wife: Joyce of Clinton; one daughter: Julia (Tom) Soenksen of Clinton; two sons: William J. (Billie) Crigger of Fulton, and Jeff (Tracie) Crigger of Clinton; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and nine brothers. The family requests memorials be made to Genesis Hospice.
