Vernetta Arlene Goff's Obituary
Vernetta Arlene Goff, 84, of Camanche, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, Thursday, September 3, 2020. She was very strong and courageous as she battled multiple myeloma for over a year. Services will be held at 12:00PM, Noon, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Erin (Chris)Thorpe, Steve (Erin), TJ (Erin), Tyler, Aspen and Sierra Goff, Nick and Brett Beckwith, Wendy Krueger, Terrin (Jon) Nasatir and Alisse (Mark) Thomas . Vernetta was born August 15, 1936 in Lyons, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon and Edna (Fenzel) Young. She was a 1955 Clinton High School graduate. Vernetta married Leigh Goff December 29, 1957 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton.
She had been employed at Rialto Movie Theaters, was an operator for the Telephone Company, worked at Schaffer Pen and Paper Company in Fort Madison, PFC, McManus Warehousing and retired from Economy Coatings, Camanche.
Everyone loved her goofy and outgoing personality. She enjoyed dancing, puzzles and being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Leigh of Camanche; children, Mark (Kelly) Goff of Camanche; Ken (Terri) Goff of Clinton; Kevin Goff of Douglas, WY and Vicki (Jeff) Beckwith of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mona Redman of Clinton and a brother, James Young of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Warren Young; brother-in-law, Loren Redman and sisters-in-law, Janice Young and Margaret Young.
Memorials may be made to the family for a charity of their choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Aggarwal, the chemo nurses and CNA, Tammy.
