Vernetta Arlene Goff, 84, of Camanche, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, Thursday, September 3, 2020. She was very strong and courageous as she battled multiple myeloma for over a year. Services will be held at Read Obituary

I'm sure you wouldn't remember me, but I grew up in Clinton and knew the Goff
family. My parents were Joe & Erma Lanaghan; my sister & I were closer in age
to Craig. If I remember correctly Helen Goff and my dad (Joe) were first cousins.

Beautiful lady....so sorry to see the news of her passing. Please extend my condolences to Leigh, Mark, and the entire Goff family. Mark and I were classmates. Mr. Leigh Goff was both my coach and teacher. Please pass along my thanks to him for the time that both he and Mike Ashby sat down with me during my sophomore year and told me that I was capable of doing better in Biology class. The truth is that before then, I never had to study in school. In fact, I really did not know how. I am very thankful that both he and Mr. Ashby showed the interest in me that they did. It turned out to be a major turning point in my life and I will always be grateful to both of them. Many kind thoughts and prayers for the entire family at this very difficult time. May your wonderful memories of Vernetta bring comfort to you all.
