Thomas L. Jordan's Obituary
Thomas L. Jordan, 73, of Eldridge formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center - East. Per his wishes Cremation Rites have been accorded and no services will be held.

Tom was born December 11, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Marilyn (Johnson) Jordan. He was a 1969 graduate of Clinton High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in teaching and coaching from Northeast Missouri (Truman) State University in 1974. While attending college he was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He married Suzanne Reed on June 9, 1978 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton, Iowa.
Tom taught middle school Industrial Technology and Physical Education at Riverdale Middle School in Port Byron, Illinois for 32 years. Coaching many sports during his career, including baseball at Clinton High School for more than 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed bow hunting, canoeing, kayaking, and biking. Tom participated in several Ragbrai rides over the years. He was an accomplished downhill snow skier. A 35 year member of National Ski Patrol and worked as a ski patroller and instructor at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, Illinois. He and his wife enjoyed camping, hiking, and biking while visiting many states in their motorhome.
Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved watching his granddaughters grow and participate in their sporting and school activities. He was thankful for the opportunity to meet his first grandson, watch him grow, and celebrate his first birthday.
Tom is survived by his wife Suzanne Jordan of Eldridge; children: Lindsey (Corey) Ramsey of Eldridge and Ryan (Brittany) Jordan of Parkview, Iowa; grandchildren: Ainsley, Teagan, Morgan, Kari, and Zachary Ramsey and Cillian Jordan; siblings: Sandy Sander of LeClaire, Debbie (Art) Snodgrass of Camanche, Steve (Ann) Jordan of Clinton, Mike (Lynn) Jordan of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Linda (Travis) Gregory of Ames. In-laws: Brian and Barb Reed of DeWitt, Jeff and Tina Detterman of Toddville, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Cathy Franzen and several aunts and uncles.
