Thomas L. Jordan, 73, of Eldridge formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center - East. Per his wishes Cremation Rites have been accorded and no services will be held. A Celebration of Life Read Obituary
I just learned of "Coach" Jordan's passing October 1st. My condolences on his passing. I played on Coach Jordan's 1st CHS sophomore baseball team along with "Coach" Leemhuis. We really enjoyed Coach Jordan & I always loved seeing him long after I got into umpiring baseball.
He will be so missed by so many. Please take some comfort in knowing he made such a positive impact in so many players & students lives. God bless.
My condolences to the Jordan family for the loss of Tom. I would occasionally see him at family gatherings and funerals throughout the years, and always enjoyed his company. We have lost so many members now, including his parents and his sister, Cathy. I miss my aunt and uncle so much, as we often spent time together on vacations to Vegas, and playing Bingo at the Moose. I remember attending Tommy's wedding reception at the Moose as well. Always good times together, but just not enough of them. I know his suffering is over, and I pray his family finds strength and peace in all their memories with Tom. Rest well, dear cousin.
I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Our family knew the Jordan family, from way back in the day, ad his Mom and Dad stood up for my Mom and Dad's Wedding. Last time I saw Tommy, was at LK Stadium after a game...was a wonderful time to talk about our friendship from the past...I had not seen him in about 50 years...RIP Tommy...Sue Annear

Liz and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Sue, Lindsey, and Ryan and their families for the loss of Tom. Tom was a wonderful person who worked hard with the CHS freshmen and sophomore baseball players to develop not only “on the field” skills but also held them accountable for off the field behavior. He also loved the Mississippi river in the summer for canoeing with friends and family. He will be missed by the CHS family as well as his own family and friends. Sue and I send our most heartfelt sympathy to all the Jordan family! Tom stood for everything good that one can find in education-.whether it be in the classroom or on the baseball field!
He helped me so much for years with River King baseball but more importantly helped countless young men which his life touched. He was tireless in giving of his tine and talents to teach not only baseball but more importantly lessons in life ! Those fortunate to be his students or players learned the value of hard work, discipline, respect for all and being a team player.
OUR only wish is that those same students saw him later in life when he was handed a struggle that he fought with tireless courage and never giving up so he could be the same AWESOME husband, father and grandfather til the end of his days. I NEVER heard him complain about “the deck he was handed in life!”
I hope you were as blessed as Sue and I were to call Tom Jordan -OUR AWESOME friend!”

I had Mr. Jordan as a teacher at “the old Junior High” in Hillsdale. I became a teacher and would see Mr. Jordan when we would take our annual Ski Field Trip. He was always kind, had a smile, and claimed to remember having me as a student in study hall. Even if he didn’t truly remember me; he never let on! Prayers for comfort and healing for all his family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom passing. I taught with Tom at Riverdale Middle school for 16 years. He was such a pleasure to share the gym with..always had a great idea to improve the equipment or a better way to teach the kids a new skill. We took our 8th graders every year (when the snow cooperated) on a physical education field trip to Chestnut Mountain. Tom taught me to ski also! So many great memories! I know his family meant everything to him and I’m sure you all will miss him greatly. May he rest in Gods grace and peace.

Tom was a Great mentor with Chestnut Ski Patrol. I can remember when he spent a whole day with me working on my "separation" he was so patient and kind to me. I really appreciated his expertise and his way in which he presented new ways to do things. He will be greatly missed. Denise Schweer.
