Dear Amy,
I am so very sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Kerrie had shared that your mom had cancer and then that she was doing much better. I always had good intentions of writing to you and to her but I failed miserably at both.
I am glad you were in close proximity to be there with her. That will be of comfort to you once the grief ebbs some. I am sure Kate and her sister enjoyed spending time with Grandma Forrest and I know your Mom loved her little Kate and Kate's sister as well. Kerrie of course said they are beautiful girls. I still have Kate's picture up on the refrigerator - a couple of them actually.
Amy, I will try to make visitation but I have Sullivan (grandson)duty so that doesn't usually make for a good traveling companion. George had a heart attack on the 13th so he's not driving and cannot watch the grandson so I am tied close to home.
My sympathy to you and your family. God bless you and give you strength.

To the family of Sue Forrest,
I met Sue when she lived in the house owned by Bob White. How many years ago is that? We were members of the Clinton Junior Woman's Club and all of the north enders would pool together to attend the meetings. Then through this association, I learned that game of bridge. We would even get a game together during the week at one of the neighbors. That is when she lived in Meadowview; playing with Joyce McCord, Sondra Sullivan, and Ann Fleischer, all good bridge players. We had many games and lots of friendship.
I am sorry that when she moved to her most recent location that Sue and I did not do much together. On occasion, we did play a game of bridge. I know that her last year was not the best for her and she was a trooper to keep a good attitude.
You all have my prayers to be strong and have faith that she is in a better place.

As a newcomer to the YWCA Board of Directors many, many years ago, I remember Sue as one who believed in the Mission of the YWCA, giving of her time and efforts, not only to the YW, but to those of us who were new on the Board. It can be said that Sue and many others like her helped to lay the foundation for a strong YW, as we see it today. I will always appreciate her kindness and leadership through some difficult times. And, what an inspiration that her daughter-in-law, Kathy, has also chosen a leadership position in the YWCA. I'm sure Sue was very proud. My deepest condolences.
