To his family, I'm sorry for your loss. I got to know Steve while he lived here at the Armstrong Building. He finally did start joining us when we had pot lucks and really seemed to enjoy being with us. I got to visit with his son a little when he came to move him and really appreciated his looking after his dad. It's hard for us older folks. Steve also went to school with two of my brothers who had moved away after graduating.
Again, my condolences to you and just know he's in a much better place now! God Bless you all.

I will always remember going to the 2 By 4 and having a drink or two or three and a stickey burger. The bar was always a friendly place and Dwight Berryman and myself say we bought that pool table at least twice. My thoughts to the family and a special hello to Mary, Sheila's dearest friend.

Your Mom contacted me on Friday to tell me about your Dad. I just want to tell you how badly I feel. Steve was a person who could make me laugh with abandon about anything. Even a look from him would set me into a fit of giggles. He was one of the people who taught me to laugh at myself...which was a gift that he gave me. I have always had a special place in my heart for him. Probably from our first meeting when I was 3 or 4 years old, we had a special affection for one another. Mary, Ryan, and Shane, understand that you have my sympathy and prayers that God will provide you with comfort in this time of mourning. Steve and I were friends for years, and I'll always remember his sense of humor, sense of fun, going out on the Mississippi in the pontoon boat, talking about girls, and just enjoying each other's company. I was a neighbor, sort of (living next door to the Coryell Truck Stop across the street from the Court House), so we were able to get together often. Fun riding around in his dad's Buick Wildcat, listening to the Dick Biondi show on WLS, just being cool. I will miss him. He was one of the good guys.

I grew up across the alley from Steve and was a good friend of his sister, Mary. Steve was like a big brother to me, telling me when something I was doing would get me in trouble or taking me to look for a school friend who had run away from home. He was one of the "good guys" and I will always remember him fondly.

My condolences to his family and my love to Mary...it's been a long time.

I am so sorry to hear about Steve. When we were in high school we went on a movie date. I remember our parents drove us because we were too young to drive. I didn't know him well in later years, but thought he was a great guy in high school. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
