Sophia Josephine Kavadas passed away May 25, 2009 at the age of 91 at Mercy Living Center-North in Clinton. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Vi Read Obituary
Georgia and Bob, how sad to hear of Sophia's passing. Our Moms were together for a long time at the nursing home. You have be a good daughter, and having such a wonderful Mom and great memories will certainly help heal the huge hole she will leave.
My Grandmother was very loving and I am so fortunate to have warm, sweet memories of her. She will be so missed, but her Spirit/love will remain in the hearts of her Children,Grand-children, Great-Grand-children and future generations.
She was beautiful inside and out, I will always remember her laughter and her red lipstick!
To Bernice and Georgia and the rest of the family---my sincere sympathy to you all.
I always felt so special when I visited my Grandma. She always made me feel safe and well-loved.
I will always remember the times she came to get my sisters and me on the train and brought us to her house. She did special things with us. Years later I was able to take my children to visit and they also have the same warm memories.
Grandma - you will always have a Special place in my heart. I love you!
I remember when I was little and I would go to great Grandma's I would run straight to the candy dish under her coffee table and that's where she had her tootsie rolls. Grandma would say "April you can have one but you have to give one to Queenie (the dog)." Me and Queenie would look at each other and both me happy with that decision=)
To the Kavadas family,
I am so sorry to hear that your mother has passed away. While I have not seen her since I was the social worker at Wyndcrest I always remember her spunk and her wit as well as your frequent visits as family. I don't think we are ever really prepared for the loss of a parent. My heart goes out to you at this time.

I remember family gatherings at her house. The pink bathroom and the bathtub stopper on the chain. The front bedroom with the twin beds. Her favorite chair in the living room with puzzle books and gossip magazines. Christmas eve with the presents stacked really high and the kids had to go up to her bedroom to watch for Santa. Rarely getting angry, just flashes. Good natured and loved to have her family around her.
PS: i remember her laugh too as Lori mentioned. and i would like to thank whomever remembered my name and included me. thank you. i wish i could have gotten to know that side of the family better.
