Shirley Jacobsen's Obituary
Shirley A. Jacobsen, 73, of Clinton, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. A Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Shirley Ann Morrow was born on May 31, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Edna (Hansen) Morrow. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. She was a bartender for many years at the Clinton Moose Lodge. She also was a nurse’s aide at the Eagle Point Nursing Home. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the Study Connection with the Clinton Community School District. She is survived by three sons: Shawn (Paula) Gehl of New Jersey, Robert Gehl of Clinton, and Corey (Mary) Burmeister of Clinton; her daughter: Mary (Dave) Hynous of Clinton; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Verne Morrow of Camanche and Gary (Diana) Morrow of Clarksville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, a grandson, a great-granddaughter, a sister, and a brother.
