Sherry L. Emerson's Obituary
Sherry L. Emerson, 81, of Camanche, passed away, Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Eagle Point Health Care Center.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Monday, January 13, 2020, at the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church – Camanche. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time at the church on Monday. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Private Family burial will be on Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery. Sherry Lee Gisel was born on December 8, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Gayle and Arawana (Larson) Gisel. She was a graduate of Tipton High School and attended AIC in Davenport. She married Ronald Emerson on July 25, 1959 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Sherry was the head teller/cashier at the Iowa State Savings Bank and the Camanche State Bank for many years. She was a member of the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, the Camanche Historical Society, the Red Hat Ladies, the Clinton Women’s Club, and Eastern Star.
Sherry is survived by her husband: Ron of Clinton; three children: Barry (Rhonda) Emerson of Grand Mound, Iowa; Timothy (Judy) Emerson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Machelle (Daniel) Dungy of Flower Mound, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter: Palmer; her brother: Richard (Diana) Gisel of Mission, Texas; her sister: Mary Ann (Bruce) Harden of Spencer, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
