To Shawn's family: I'm so sorry to hear that Shawn passed away. I have the best memories of Shawn, his great laugh and great sense of humor. I couldn't be around him and not laugh. I didn't know Shawn when he went to WACO High - we met after High School and had some fun times in Washington and I'll never forget the time we went to the state fair and we saw Hootie and the Blowfish (it was a long time ago!).
I wish I had the chance to say Goodbye, friend. You will be missed....
Shocked ..is a word to describe how I felt to hear of your loss. Shawn and I were friends and classmates at WACOHI. I send my prayers and sympathy to you and your whole family. You will always be in our thoughts here in Washington.
I learnt only days ago that Shawn had died and I can hardly believe it. I knew Shawn from Lakeview apartments in Mesa, Arizona where we both lived. I loved Shawn as a friend and I'm so sorry about his passing and everything he had to go through.
I remember so well,a brief conversation that we had in the parking lot of Lakeview, when he told me that he was moving back to Iowa and looking forward to spend time with his son. I was so happy for him and I imagined him around his family and may be being manager of a golf course.
Sebastian, it must be so hard for you. Being a parent myself, (my son's name is Sebastian too), I know that Shawn wanted to be at your side as you walk through life. As any parent he wanted to protect you and guide you and he wanted to enjoy spending time with you. With the support of your family you will get through this very difficult time.
I also want to express my deepest sympathy to his parents and family.
I will not forget Shawn. I miss him being in the world.

Dear Judy, and all of Shawn's family and friends...
When I got the message this morning about Shawn's passing, I was not only deeply saddened, but also very surprised. To know that Shawn, who was so full of life, had his taken from him so early... it is just so hard to believe. I know for a fact how hard he must have fought, and I will forever be proud of him.
Shawn and I met while we were living in the same apartment complex out in Arizona, and I cannot tell you how boring that place would have been without him! He was always the life of the party, always making everyone laugh, always ready to extend his friendship to everyone around him. When I moved back home to New York, Shawn knew he had an open invitation to come visit me. I can't say how sorry I am that this visit will never come to pass.
As silly as this may sound to some, I'd also like to extend my condolences to Bogey. He and my dog, Bailey, had a lot of fun together, and I remember Bogey as having a spirit of life and energy about him that was matched only by Shawn's. I know how much Bogey loved Shawn and vice versa, and I hope that he is a comfort to whoever is caring for him now. I know you will cherish and love him just as Shawn did.
Shawn, you are very missed. I hope you know that your time here on earth brought laughter and friendship to all those who knew you.

I am sorry to hear of Shawn's passing. I will never forget the good times that we shared golfing together and working together. He will be truly missed.
all of us here at the golf course where we all knew shawn, we want to express our condolence to his family and friends. he was a wonderful person to work with and we all missed him when he went back to iowa. again our sadness is with you in his untimely death and we are all better because of his friendship with us. i know that GOD will welcome him with arms wide open.

We are so sorry to hear of Shawns passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Shawn was a lot of fun and a great guy. Such a tragic loss. Judy,you would remember Joy from her days with her son Scott Schroeder at the DeWitt Hospital. You were always such a comfort and treated Scott as one of your own. Shawn always lit up a room with his smile and laughter. He will be greatly missed. May God be with you in your time of sorrow.
I've only know Shawn for a couple of years. I have played golf with him many times at Valley Oaks and I cherish the memories of humor and his honesty as a friend. I send my condolences to his family, and share in the sadness of his premature parting. His youthfulness and spirit add to the tragedy of his death.
I know that Shawn appreciated the dedication of Laura Ladehoff and was greatful for all the help and comfort that she provided.
When I think of Shawn I think of laughter. We did a lot of laughing together. Shawn was a very funny guy. I had some great memories with Shawn. Between Shawn,Jay,Alex,Chris and myself back in high school to my most recent memories in Arizona. We had some good times. I will miss Shawn very much. I am so sorry his time came way too soon. He will be missed by so many people. To Judy and to all of Shawn's family I am so sorry for your lose.
