Ruth Scribner's Obituary
Ruth E. (Bray) Scribner, 93, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am till the service time at the funeral home. Ruth Elizabeth Bray was born on November 11, 1915 the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Hill) Bray. She married Claude L. Scribner on May 27, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. He later died July 26, 1970. Ruth attended Clinton High School and graduated class of 1933. She was of the Methodist faith. Ruth and her husband owned and operated Scribner’s Hobby, Craft, and Toy Shop for over twenty-five years. She retired in 1972. Ruth was a member of the “55 Alive”, A.A.R. P. member, and the Republican Women. Ruth is survived by one son: Richard (Evie) Scribner of Everett, Washington, three grandchildren: Terri Scribner, Sandra Scribner, and Laura Scribner all the Seattle area, three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Jacob, and Rachel, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, one sister: Betty and one brother: Bob. Memorials may be made to: Mercy Medical Center, The Alverno, or the First Methodist Church Sunday Radio Services.
