Ronald R. Lisius' Obituary
Ronald R. Lisius, 84, of Camanche, passed away, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton.
A celebration of Ron's life will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 24, 2016 at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, in Camanche, Iowa. Burial will in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am -1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Ronald Robert Lisius was born October 15, 1931 in Juniata, Nebraska, the son of Rudolph and Eva (Koestler) Lisius. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in 1949. In 1952 he married Shirley Nelson and they were married for 25 years. He later married Darlene Putnam in 1979.
Ron worked as the Chief Mechanical Engineer for DuPont in Clinton, Iowa for 25 years. He retired from DuPont in Parkersburg, West Virginia after another 10 years. He loved animals and sports, and was especially known for raising Brittany Spaniels for over 50 years of his life. He was a very active member of the American Kennel Club, an avid hunter and horseman, and participated in Brittany field trials all over the country, where he had many close friends.
He is survived by his four children: Curt (Lori) Lisius of Albany, Illinois, Teresa (Bob) Engelhardt of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Rhonda (Pat) Foltz of Snohomish, Washington, and Jon Lisius of Clinton; seven grandchildren: Kelsey Lisius; Trevor, Cori, and Joel Engelhardt; Nick and Steve Burggraaf; and Amanda Lisius; 2 great grandchildren; three step-children: Julia (Larry) Leonard of Camanche, Kevin (Vicki) Putman of Indiana, and Scott (Jimmie) Putman of North Pole, Alaska; 7 step-grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; and one brother: Milton (Velma) Lisius of Juniata, Nebraska.
Ron was preceded in death by his two wives, one granddaughter: Ashley Lisius, two sisters, and one brother, and his parents.
