Hello, I am not sure if anyone will receive this message since it has been a while since Ron passed away. I was trying to reach Ron to thank him for the gift of love he gave our family when we purchased our brittany pup from him over 14 years ago. Our precious Roxy Lady just left us this past Monday. She was a wonderful pet and gave us so much love and I might add, lots of exercise! She had a great nose and loved to be outdoors all the time as I am sure Ron enjoyed as well. We are sorry for your loss.

Julie & family, so sorry for your loss. We had such a great time with your mom and Ron when we visited them or they stopped and visited Darlene's Bohemian cousins. They will be missed. Sheryl

My wife Elizabeth and I shared many pleasant times with Ron and Darlene.

Ron would go to any extreme to get his Brittany field trial dogs in the winner's circle. He had a promising dog that was limited by the need to chase deer. On at least one occasion, he had to go into a hunter's camp to retrieve the dog. Then, he heard that if the dog could be exposed to goats on a regular basis, it would stop chasing deer. So, Ron went and got two goats!

One time he went to inspect his well which was located in a holler. His ATV toppled back over and pinned him. He called Darlene on his cell phone and she got some sturdy EMT's to lift it off him. He didn't break anything, but he bruised almost every inch of his body.

He was a super mechanical engineer. Every time he took one of his Subaru's apart and reassembled it he photographed the whole process. He did the same thing with the dump truck he had and the extra dump truck he kept for parts.

He had the knack of making a fascinating story out of anything that happened in his everyday life.

I have very few really close friends. Ron was one of them. He will be sorely missed.

Ron and Darlene were always a fixture at the eastern region field trials and a pleasure to spend time with over a quiet meal. I always enjoyed his stories of dogs and horses and his point of view on the winners and losers. Ron had many winning dogs and always remember him as a good man, quiet with a winning smile. My condolences to his family.
