Robert Thomas “Tom” Hintermeister, 77, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Ivy at Davenport.
Private graveside services will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 at Springdale Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at snellzornig.com.
Tom was born March 25, 1947 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Robert and Lois (Haywood) Hintermeister. He was a Clinton High School graduate. He married Karla Kane May 2, 1996 in Clinton, IA; she died September 8, 2023.
Tom was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam with Company A, 78th Signal battalion. He was a member of the American Legion and the Clinton AMVETS.
He was employed with US West as a lineman and supervisor for more than 30 years prior to retiring.
Survivors include his sons, John (Cindy) Hintermeister of Las Vegas, NV and Mike (Carrie) Hintermeister of Fenton, IL; grandchildren: Michael Dodge, Benjamin Hintermeister, Abraham Fisher and Taylor (Kenneth) Bauman and his sister-in-law, Cindy Hintermeister of Dubuque, IA.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steve.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
