Sorry to hear of Bob's death. We remember the days of Mash Bash, etc.
I especially remember his love of barbershop singing. Bob is one of the fond memories from our time in Clinton.
My sincere sympathies to Mrs. German and her family.
I saw Dr. German only once a years for minor skin blemishes, but he treated me with great respect and attentive care.
I am sorry for you that he could not enjoy years of retirement with you. We lose the best too soon.
Dr. German will be greatly missed. He was an outstanding dermatologist. I always enjoyed my appointments and visits with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Just wanted to take a moment to let the family know that my family and I will miss him terribly. He was an outstanding doctor, a very intellegent and caring man. It will take one exceptional doctor to fill his shoes. He always joked and was so kind to my children. My children felt comfortable and unafraid in his care. He treated them like his own and was always precise making a diagnosis. Many of my family members have seen him also and feel the same way. I'm sure that God will be glad to welcome him with open and loving arms for all the healing and love he gave to others. A man like he only comes along once in awhile. He was a true Icon to all that knew him....
May he rest in peace and continue to practice his magic in Heaven. God bless each and all of you.
A friend and a patient of his.
Diana He will be sadly missed.
I would just like to let the family know how much we will miss Dr German and what he has meant to our family. Our youngest daughter Hopie had a funny looking mole, so we took her in and he ended up taking the mole off to send in for testing, and he was the most gentle, loving Doctor we could have ever asked for. He put our daughters health and comfort first. Hope has follow up visits very 3 months. We loved going in to see Dr German (his nurses also). We would exchange stories about my kids and his grandkids and his children when they were growing up. NO VISIT was ever 15 minutes! I would always come in with an idea of how to look younger and ask his opinion, which I value deeply, and he would always tell me I was beautiful they way I was and I would be wasting my money on Botox or whatever idea I had brought into the office at the time. He told me to grow old gracefully. Now how many Doctors would say that??? We would like his family to know that our family will NEVER have a Doctor like him again. What we admired most was his faith. Blessing to your family as you celebrate the life of a wonderful man. And may you find comfort in the memories.
I really didnt know Dr. German that much, only saw him during my appointments, but he was such a good man, he was always smiling and being kind,I really going to miss him.
Bob & Dave were friends & roommates in
the Nu Sigma Nu medical fraternity back
in 1957. Bob was in our wedding party
when we were married in 1958. Then
the men interned together in Duluth in 1960.
We came to Marshalltown from Klamath Falls, Ore. where D. was in the air force & Dave& Bob practiced together for several
years before Bob left for his military
life.
We were well acquainted with Bob's sons Rob & Tim when they were very young boys.
Bob was a great guy, very social & jolly & fun. We were glad to have him
as a friend. We extend our sympathy
to his family. from

We were shocked and very saddened by the news of Docs passing. We primarily knew Doc professionally but he always had a way to make you feel like good friends. He always seemed to have all the time in the world to talk in the office whether he had 1 or 100 patients waiting. He never made you feel hurried. He always seemed relaxed and genuinely interested in whatever you wanted to talk about. His breed of doctor is rapidly disappearing. Our heartfelt sympathy and saddness goes to his family, friends and staff. He will be GREATLY missed!
