There are countless positive words and feelings, that can be expressed about Dick, We all knew his as Dick and I often called him Richard. Simply put, he was and excellent man, and father. He always did his job and told it like it is. Respected as a very talented and intellectual person. He will be missed and I consider myself fortunate to have crossed paths, with him. A man who would never poison, a heart. ..... IRO
I think of grandpa every time I have a chance to sit down and chat with anyone from his era. I am so blessed to have so many memories with both of my grandparents from my childhood, stories grandpa shared with me about growing up and all his adventures. I used to love when he’d sing old songs to me like Paper Dolly or teach me different games. My papa was a kind and gentle man who was quick with a joke or a laugh and a smile. He loved his kids, adored his grandkids and cherished his great grandkids. So thankful for every moment we had with him.
My fondest memories of my grandpa were the times we spent fishing together and metal detecting. My first job at 11 was helping to clean their house on saturdays and then getting to go to breakfast with grandpa at sisters cafe on 2nd street.
Dad truly was the love of my life. He would tease me about something and then catch my son, Tyleres eye and wink. He worked so hard to support our family of 6, but never ever complained. Patient, loving and at times stubborn but it was all a part of the personality I loved. I must have reminded him of mom or maybe it was our daughter daddy connection but I could usually get him to do things when he would refuse for others. He taught me so much about repairing things myself and standing up to what I believed in.
My love for him will help me to get this tremendous void in my life.
Dear Family Members, we are so sorry for your loss. Dick will be missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a great family man with a great sense of humor. Our heart is with you. Jay and Melody Bruns and family.
Dad was a man I always looked up to. He taught me to be honest, ethical, and to have a good work ethic.
Even though he often worked two jobs to get by, somehow he always took time to play catch in the backyard or take me fishing.
I have a lifetime of great memories. I miss you so much already, Pappy, I love you.
I have way too many memories to share. I’ll always remember my Papas quick witt. We shared so many laughs. I will always remember looking into his beautiful blue eyes........
