My love and prayers Barb are with you and the family! Dick was a very special friend, and was like a brother to my Dick! We had so many wonderful times together, and I will always treasure the memories. Our visits to Iowa to see you and he were some of our best and happiest times! Oh the stories these two could tell - all the golf outings - the cookouts - the riding around and touring of all the classmates homes, schools, the town, and all their old stomping grounds- the treasured times spent together will never be forgotten! I know they have been drinking a brewsky, talking, reminiscing, and hopefully playing golf!! You were the best wife ever, and was so good to Dick! You made him so very happy!! I love you dear friend, and am always here for you! He will always be with you - and I know watching over you!! May God bless you with the peace, strength, and healing you need in the days ahead.
What a great guy and friend I'll miss you out at the course
Always had fun times with Dick, he will be missed by many. I enjoyed the golfing trips with him and the "group", really most where better than average golfers and that's what made it fun, Dick was one of the higher average golfers, too bad he was left handed. Remember Dick, not God play thru on the Heavenly course you are now at.
Russ and I would like to send our condolences to Dick’s family. Russ and Dick worked for years together at the Clinton Herald. I spent a lot of time at the DeHaven house while growing up being his Sister Linda was one of my very best friends.
I would like to share a picture of the Clinton Herald Crew who got together to celebrate Terry Sullivan’s and Jim McDermott’s retirement. Here’s to a life well lived🍻 Rest In Peace Dick.

A friend and classmate since grade school, I will always remember his smile and quick wit ! He was always welcoming to this non athletic kid from South Clinton. He would be happy with my new found love of sports! Will miss him !
Dick was such a great man! He was our neighbor for several years and definitely and avid sports fan! He would always tell me about my husbands high school sports from years before. He had so much spirit and was so much fun to be around. Always loved seeing him out with his cigar that was never lit. Praying for Barb and the family during this difficult time. He will be missed by many.
So sorry for the loss of such a man. Dick was a great guy to work with and always fun to be around! The world has lost a star.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Dick was a good person, always spoke. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless
