Raymond E. Fiedler's Obituary
Raymond E. Fiedler, 79, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home.
Memorial Services will be 11:30am Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-11:30am at the church. Raymond Eugene Fiedler was born on May 31, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Raymond F. and Mary (Post) Fiedler. He was a 1956 graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. He married Joan Johnson on June 2, 1962 in Clinton. He was a seaman with the United States Navy serving from 1956-1958. He later attended Clinton Community College and Marycrest University.
Ray taught in the Clinton Community Schools for 29 years retiring in 2001 He taught at Longfellow, Gateway Junior High and Lyons Middle School.
Ray was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, served on the board and sexton of the Pine Grove Cemetery Association, the NEA, ISCA and the CEA. He enjoyed visiting the casino and fishing.
Ray is survived by his wife: Joan of Clinton; his son: Raymond (Vicki) Fiedler of Manson, Iowa, Pamela Fiedler of Freeport, Illinois, two grandsons: Holden & Logan Fiedler of Ames, Iowa; his siblings: Mary Ries of Dubuque, Mabel (Bob) Witte of Dubuqe, and Ernie (DeeAnna) Fiedler of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Dorothea.
