Dear Cindy
So sorry to learn about the passing of your Dad. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.
I am glad tho that I got the opportunity to meet both your parents here in Florida. We enjoyed the time we spent with them.
Christ is the King of all creation! When God created our Uncle Leonard; he broke the mold! He was genuinely of the sweetest, kindest, throughtful and hardworking men we have ever known! We will never forget how much he loved Aunt Irene's cooking, and how he truly enjoyed food! He also could fall asleep faster than anyone we have ever known. He had a tremendous dream life too! He expressed his faith and he wasn't afraid to live by it! My Uncle Len is one of the reasons our sons; Ian and David went into the Army. He was an example of service to our country. Uncle Len was our son Ian's Godfather. He loved his children, great-grandchildren, and great-greats! I know when I see him again. He will be whole and healed. No more tears, or death. Death has lost its sting because of Jesus! The King is victorious!
He will be surely missed. He was a great man who taught us all a lot about life. I wish that I had gotten to know him more. I know that he is up in heaven, smiling down on all of us.
My first memories of Leonard were when I was a young boy. He made several trips to our farm in Ashley, N.D. Of course, he didn't come to see me, but my Sister Irene. He and I went pheasant hunting and target shooting which was fun. I remember the day he left to go into the Army. Our mail box was about a mile away, and visible from the farm. Irene would keep an eye out, and whenever the mail man stopped at the box she would send me to get the mail. There were times when I was tempted to open the letter-but I never did. I realized that my life might be prmaturely ended if I did. Leonard was not only my brother-in law, but more importantly a good friend.
He always welcomed my family and me with open arms. Although he is gone from us, we know that he is in very good hands with the Lord, and is no longer in any pain. Leonard, we will see you again, and "keep the light on for us."
With all my love, Milt
We absolutely loved our Uncle "Leonard" and all he was. He had a heart of gold, great sense of humor, he loved the Lord and it showed! I remember one summer when I went to visit them while they were living out of town. He left a note for us stating he went to town to get a part and signed his name "Auto". I can still hear him laughing when we talked about that note. He was so devoted to his family and that includes the extended ones. He was so good to his parents-in laws and they were Mom and Dad to him. God blessed us with a wonderful man, one we will never forget. He is now in heaven with all that went before him and he is being a loving father to his infant daughter that he never got to know until now. "Well done thou good and faithful servant".
Love always,
Addie and Loren
Irene and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Leonard was a man who loved his family and we were so happy to spend time with him in Aberdeen a few years ago when you came to help us celebrate the Fink family. We share in your loss and hope that you will find peace and understanding in the days and weeks ahead.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Reuben, Sharon and Karen Ann
We are so very sorry we can't be there for the service for Leonard. We miss being with all of you! Len was such a good brother-in-law-always kind and welcoming. We will miss him so much. We fondly remember him-how he could eat for a slender man! And a very hard worker, who loved his family very much. He loved to laugh. We know he was a man of great faith, and surely now he is safely in Heaven. No more struggles with his health-and beautiful eternal life is his now. We've always had such a good time with your family when we visit each other. I remember how he always gave you a kiss when he would go out the door to work, Irene, and when he came home. We know you took such good care of him for many years.
Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
Deut. 33:12 "Let the beloved of the Lord rest in Him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders."
From Audrey
We love you all so much!
Uncle Leonard was the sweetest man. He loved his family, friends and most of all his Lord. I am so blessed to have had him in my life for so many years and proud to call him my Uncle! Even as we morn the loss of a great man, heaven rejoices as one of their children has come home. Glory Be To God!
Love, Lynette and family
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this time!
