Our son, Jason, as a preschooler attended sessions led by Marlys at the community center. He fondly referred to these sessions as "Big Jump Class." She was an important part of his early life. We will forever cherish the role Marlys played in his life.
Our sympathy and prayers to Marlys;s family. She was a very special lady, and we valued her friendship while in Clinton and after we left. I never heard Marlys say a negative thing about anybody or any thing. Cathy and I remember special Sunday dinners when she treated us at her favorite restaurants--she would not take no to her invitations. We are so sorry that we can not attend the celebration of her special life. We are both nursing colds and would not be able to give the hugs that we would love to share.
Please accept my condolences. Marlys grew up on the farm adjoining my parents near Archer, and they were lifelong friends. Marlys was visiting my mom on the day that Mom passed away. I will be forever grateful that she was there. What a wonderful and gracious lady.
Sorry to hear of your loss. She was a very special lady who touched the lives of so many especially the children she taught. Keeping you in my prayers.
