It was the summer of 1984 my brothers and sisters and I went down to the park in South Clinton. At that time the people that took care of the park would turn on the sprinklers that were attached to the bathrooms. Anyway we were talking to some friends and the sprinklers were turned on, so decided hey lets have a water fight the boys against the girls. My brother Arnie and I went back home which was 2 blocks to get buckets. When we got home we didn't know that mom was in the bathroom, next thing we knew was her in the doorway disguising her voice "what are you guys doing!" We both jumped and I said getting buckets for a water fight at the park. She smiled and said make sure to bring those buckets back. We had a blast and we didn't know that Jerry Dahl from the Clinton Herald was there taking our pictures until we stopped. Gerrie, Katrina, Arnie, Cory and myself returned home(yes with the buckets)she asked if we had fun and we told her the we had our pictures taken. She got mad and said you don't have strange people taking your pictures. We told her it was Jerry Dahl from the Clinton Herald, she said she didn't care who it is. Next the paper arrived and there we were, she got up got a pair of scissors and cut out those pictures and put them in the photo album where they are to this day. She then called our grandma and her about it.
