Dear Dian and Adrienne...it's hard to believe I'm sending my most heartfelt sympathy due to Larry's/your dad's passing. I was shocked when I got the call that God had taken him home. My heart aches for you both, and I pray the peace of God that surpasses our understanding will be your comfort. I also pray for a restoration of your broken hearts, by the grace of God, through a flooding of cherished memories. If we were to live a million years, we would probably say we needed more time; but the time we share here is nothing compared to the time we will share in Heaven. May the knowledge your loved one is in Heaven fill you with comfort and hope!

I was so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I have know him almost all of my life and I don't believe you could find a kinder, more straight forward and funny man. I have such fond memories of him as a young man when he came to our house and said he had joined the Army and how we missed him when he was gone. How he decided that he would race cars at the Davenport Fairgrounds (we all went to see his first race and were so proud of him). His favorite driver at that time was AJ Foyt. He mad us laugh when we thought all we could do was cry. He was a friend that if you didn't see him for years it was as if no time had passed you just picked up as if it were yesterday.

May God bless your family and get you through this difficult time. And Thank You Larry for the wonderful person you were and great friend.

I was so sad to hear about Larry our family has known Larry for more than fifty years. He was always such a nice guy and could make us laugh. He was best friends with my brother Charles since they were just kids. Larry will be missed but not forgotten! Rest in Peace Larry.

Larry and I have been longtime friends and shared many memories while working on the railroad together.

It will be odd not receiving his daily emails.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I worked with Larry when we were on the UP Des Moines job. We shared good and some rough trips for almost 4 years. They were never shorter than the 12 hr of service rule. I always enjoyed his many stories, and we became good friends from that experience. You're ordered for that train in the sky, Larry. I'll miss you.
