As a reader, I always enjoyed conversations with Joyce & the LA people. Joyce always brought her wit, and smile to every conversation she had. She invariably made others feel better about themselves.

Dear Lisa, Jean & Beth,
I had the good fortune to teach with your mother at Clinton High from 1980 until she retired in 1993. Mr. Howe said it best, "Joyce was such a kind and caring person." The tributes to your mother really warmed my heart! Sue (Weiss) Green
Joyce was such a kind and caring person. As a language arts teacher at CHS, she seldom expressed a bad word about a student or fellow teacher. She always welcomed me in the Language Arts office with a pleasant smile. I saw her last at HyVee shopping where we talked and enjoyed each other’s company. She was a friend for life that I will dearly miss. Rest In Peace my friend and enjoy Bill’s company. Larry Howe
My deepest sympathies. I was so lucky to have known Mrs. King both as a student and a fellow teacher at CHS She was such a special person... caring, inspiring, patient and always encouraging for all to strive to the highest standards both academically and personally. I walked by her house often and would wave if I saw the garage door open and the light on.....we had such a nice visit on her 90th when I stopped and delivered a button bouquet. I know you will cherish all the memories and hopefully they will help you through this difficult time.
Joyce was our neighbor on Jefferies Drive for a few years when our children were babies. She was always so kind and thoughtful. We had the pleasure of knowing Bill as well.I will never forget her kindness when I lost my uncle unexpectedly, she called to let me know she had him as a student and how sorry she was for our loss. She was a very special person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of having Mrs. King as a teacher at Clinton High. She was a gentle, kind soul then and all these years later still. I was fortunate to have attended Zion Lutheran with her where she always greeted my family and I by name each time we saw her. She always put a smile on my face every time we'd run into her. May you rest in peace, Mrs. King.
I had Mrs. King as a teacher at Clinton High, but didn't get to know her until later in life. I'm glad I had been given that opportunity, if I hadn't I never would have known what a wonderful, feisty, and loving person lie inside the teacher of my youth. God surely received an angel in her.

I had Mrs King twice in my years at Clinton High. All these years later her name brings up warm memories. She was always so positive and reassuring to an insecure teenager. I believe it was the summer of 2019, I was in Clinton visiting family and I visited Mrs King in her home. I had just retired from teaching for 42 years and we had a grand time together. I am sorry for the pain of losing your mom and grandmother. She touched many lives. May you be comforted by the promise of resurrection. Marilyn Savory Henderson Class of 1972.
Joyce was a patient of mine for many years at Medical Associates, she was such an inspiration to me, when I went back to school to become a nurse she would always express how proud of me she was. I enjoyed seeing and talking with her. She will always be in my heart. My sympathy to your family.
