John Morgan's Obituary
John "Jack" Ashley Morgan, Jr., 82, of Clinton, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am to the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
John Ashley Morgan, Jr., was born on June 2, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Ruth (Crapser) Morgan. His mother passed away while giving birth to him. He was raised by his father and step-mother: Louis Elmore-Morgan. He married Ellen R. O'Leary on August 17, 1956 in Clinton.
Jack was a graduate of Morgan Park High School and Iowa Wesleyan in Mount Pleasant.
Jack served as a deputy sheriff for the Clinton County Sheriff's Department from 1955 until his retirement as Chief Deputy in 1995.
Jack was an avid fisherman. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Fulton Country Club.
Jack is survived by his wife: Ellen of Clinton; two sons: John Marshall (Nancy) Morgan of West Des Moines, Iowa; David (Teri) Morgan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two daughters: Sharon Morgan-Cullen of Camanche and Lori Morgan-Reis of Clinton; and nine grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a son: Daniel.
Memorials can be made to Prince of Peace Parish.
