John was a wonderful man and he will be missed by many, many people. He was always willing to be of help to anyone that needed it. He lived his life very well and will surely have a place in heaven with God.
We often thought of the Clarks when driving through the old neighborhood. Our fondest memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you family.
I always knew that John was active with Ragbrai but found out he did SO much more in his obituary. What a lovely man. I have many fond memories of spending time at the Clark house as a kid. Julie, my thoughts and prayers go out to you, Wilma, and your families.

I can't begin to tell you how incredibly sorry I am. These last years I let life get in the way of taking the time for what is really important. For that I apologize to you. You have all been my second family, and have always been there for me despite all my misgivings. I love you all dearly, and hope that Uncle John knew the same. If anyone ever deserved a place at the right hand of God, it was him. I only hope to live out the rest of my life with the same dedication to humanity and the Lord as all of you. I am praying very hard for all of you right now.
John was a wonderful man & a great classmate.We had a lot of good times in school. He will be missed by many friends & classmates. You are in our thoughts & Prayers during this difficult time.

I enjoyed knowing John in high school in various classes we shared and some of our extra curricular activities. It was good to get reaquainted the past several years at our monthly class of 1957 breakfasts at Country Kitchen. We will miss John's concerned, kind, and supportive presence.
