We are sorry for your lost. We know that you two are soul mates for life.
Our sympathy to Ray on the passing of Joanne--and to her family.
Joanne was a wonderful friend, which a warm and welcome smile each time you met her. She was alot of fun, and enjoyed playing cards with Fun Friends, and going out to eat with all of us. She will be missed. Please know, Ray, that we care and feel your loss. May the strength and comfort of our Lord help you in the days ahead.
As a little girl in the late 1950s and early 60s, I lived next door to Joanne and Ray in Iowa City. I would have been about 9 or 10. My mom was divorced and worked as a secretary, leaving my older sister and me alone after school. Joanne became as sort of "second Mom" for me for a while. She never failed to warmly welcome me into their home for short visits, and always offered me a juice-glass full of Pepsi(what a treat!). Over the last 50 years, I have always remembered her kindness, her huge smile and warm ways, and that red hair. I don't know what caused me to think of her last night and "google" her name but I am glad to be able to let Ray know how her kindness so long ago had such a big impact on a lonely little girl. I doubt Joanne ever realized how important she was to me. Thank you Joanne and peace be with you. Jan
