Good bye Aunt Jan, Im so thankful for all of us being together this past summer in Preston. I love you and will miss you.
I was very happy to visit with Janis at our recent Class of 1950 sixtieth reunion. I'm so very sorry to hear of her death (thanks to Don Shepard)--and I hope she didn't suffer.
Somehow I have one particular memory of having lunch at her house (we lived around the corner in the farmhouse on the hill that is now painted red and belongs to Ashford U.) so we could have the special rice pudding with raisins that her aunt made!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. What wonderful memories Jan and Don gave to us as Troop #39 Boy Scouts. Donnie and I were in the "Ant" Patrol, since we were all such short guys back then. I remember the four-flatbed trucks for the Mardi Gras Parade float, I remember being Jan's Den Chief for her cub scouts, I remember our family spending many good evenings at the Johnson home. Your love for each other and all of us will go on for a long time. So sorry for your loss.
