Jim has always been a wonderful friend to us. We enjoyed getting back in touch with him on facebook and reading his posts each day. We'll miss him so much.
Jim was a wonderful friend and mentor to me. Jim was a great advocate for all people that needed his help and he was relentless when it came to doing the right thing for other people. I will surely miss our email and telephone conversations. Jim loved riding his bike along the DesPlaines river and would have me laughing outloud with his famous fish stories. Jim touched thousands of lives and people were better prepared to take that next step in life because of who he was. Jim really cared about other people and offered me a chance to work with him when I needed to get myself back on track. I will never forget you, hope to see you in Heaven if I make the grade. Your friend and co-worker, Don Mackey
Sorry to hear of Jim's passing he will be greatly missed here in St Louis. He was a good friend and mentor who I will never forget.
I spoke with Jim two or three times a year and was urged to become involved as one of his trainers. He always had new possibilities on the horizon about what could take place to promote his very useful program. Jim was very kind and discerning towards me and I last helped him a year or two ago with one of his conferences. We never will forget him.
He also was the main reference for the most recent job I obtained, where I continue to serve (Waukegan, IL primary school, with self-contained special education for 3rd-5th graders). Trainer "Don..." (last name?) who will attend the memorial service today (9/4), told me yesterday about Jim's passing.
May God console you all in a time of questioning, sorrow and pain over losing your precious husband/father. I feel in my own small way that I, too, have lost someone I really cared for, even though I was not in close touch. He was really a shining star.

Jim was a great guy and a friend/classmate in the High School years. We touched based again after all these years on Facebook a few years ago and I loved discussing politics and music with Jim. I will miss him greatly as will many of his FB friends and Classmates. Our sympathies are with the entire family and our thoughts are with you and Jim's memory.

Jim Rice was a classmate and teammate of mine at Clinton High, class of 69. I've known Jim since 8th grade and will miss his friedship. Missing in his obituary was the fact that at CHS, in spite of his pidgeon toed style, Jim was one of the top half milers in Iowa in 69 and was a key member of the 69 CHS track state championship team. He also was the driving force behind getting the CHS track named for Coach Bill Holsclaw in 2006. Jim was an outstanding guy and will be missed by many.
