Iris Hansen's Obituary
Iris H. Hansen, 54, of Clinton, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City Iowa. Memorial Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tom Scherer, Tom Wolf, Mike Blanchard, Mike Foley, Merle Rosenthal, and Gary Shields. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Iris Henningsen was born on July 19, 1953 in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Petersen) Henningsen. She married William A. Hansen on January 31, 1981 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Clinton. She was a 1971 graduate of Camanche High School. She also was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She was currently the market manager of the Sherwin-Williams paint store in Clinton, working there for the past 31 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, music, and working. She is survived by her husband: Bill of Clinton; her parents: Henry and Katie Henningsen of Clinton; two brothers: Harlo (Julie) Henningsen of Bettendorf, and Birger (Janae) Henningsen of DeWitt, nieces and nephews: Jamie, Jens, and Harris Henningsen, and Brenon, Evanny, and Kenah Henningsen. Memorials can be made to Relay for Life.
