Ida Callahan's Obituary
Ida D. Callahan, 93, of Camanche died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center - North Campus in Clinton. Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Wayne Wiersema from Gateway Faith Fellowship in Fulton will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Camanche Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Godsey, D.J. and Joe Fahlbeck, and Danny, Kyle, and Andrew Kampe. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Graham, Lydia Kampe, Paula Godsey, Nicoel Graham, and Charity Glaspie.
Ida Dorothea Mensinger was born on June 13, 1915, in Camanche, the daughter of Henry F. and Cora (McKenrick) Mensinger. She married John W. Fahlbeck Sr. on December 17, 1934. She later married Ivan Callahan on June 6, 1952 in Kennewick, WA.
She was employed as an Inspector with Champion Packing for 21 years. She was a member of Gateway Faith Fellowship, the Women of the Moose, and the United Paper Workers Union Local #1651.
She is survived by 2 sons: John ?Jack? Fahlbeck Jr. and Joseph Callahan, both of Camanche; 4 grandchildren: Kenneth A. (Linda) Fahlbeck of Camanche, Kay L. (Gary) Kampe of Camanche, Kimberly J. (Wayne) Godsey of Low Moor, IA, and Karen S. Frank of Clinton; 10 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 3 brothers: Joseph H., LeRoy L., and Charles E. Mensinger; 2 sisters: Alice Walters and Bessie Schulz, and one daughter in law: Mary Jo A. Fahlbeck.
