Helma Reimer's Obituary
Helma T. Reimer, 97, of Chaska, MN, formerly of Elvira, Iowa, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Auburn Manor Nursing Home in Chaska, MN. Services will be held at the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery, in Elvira, IA. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Tamra Sharley, Sheryl Kuelper, Todd Reimer, William Boyd III., Robert Boyd, Denise Gilbertson and Laurette Fendler. Helma was born on September 28, 1910, in Schleswig, IA, the daughter of Peter and Margaretha (Petersen) Timmsen. She married Leonard G. Reimer on September 23, 1934 in Elvira, Iowa; he died December 9, 1989. Helma was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for many years. She was also a self-employed seamstress for many years. She was a member of the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, was a 4-H Leader for many years, was an avid card player and was a master gardener. Survivors include her son, Lauren L. (Ruth Ann) Reimer of Aurora, IL; daughters, Caryl (William) Boyd, Jr. of Prior Lake, MN and LaNette Kuelper of Montgomery, MN; seven grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Alvin Kuelper, 2 brothers, Ralph and Henry Timmsen and sister, Veretta Garrett. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
