My greatest memories of my childhood are the times that we would gather at her house . The adults would play cards while the kids played outside. At the end of the evening we would have ice cream. The square container would be opened and the ice cream would be cut into equal slices. I always thought it was better than scoops, but in reality it was in an effort to get as many pieces as possible out of a half gallon of ice cream.
As an adult having children I would send my daughter to Clinton for a week every summer and she would always spend at least a day at Aunt Elaine’s doing crafts while my mom, Geri, was at work. Not only was she my favorite aunt, my daughter came to love her too and looked forward to visiting her the next summer.
Rest In Peace.
