Doug Owen's Obituary
Lynn Douglas Owen, 70, of Clinton, IA died Sunday, November 1st, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery – Sumner, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton.
Doug was born on November 5th, 1949, in Leon, Iowa, to Robert and Marian (Goodenow) Owen. He graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1967, then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa. There, he met his wife of nearly 50 years, Audrey (Buhr). They were married on June 19th, 1971.
Shortly after, Doug and Audrey moved to Clinton where Doug taught at Clinton High School. He pursued his Master’s Degree in Education Administration and subsequently served in administrative roles at Clinton High School, Washington Middle School, and district-wide. Doug enjoyed announcing for high school football games and was known as The Voice of the River Kings. He was an avid musician, singing in the Brass Rail Convention barbershop quartet, St. Paul Senior Choir, and Riverchor.
Survivors include his wife Audrey Owen of Clinton, IA; children and grandchildren, Matt Owen with daughter Leah, Andy (Bridget) Owen with children Jack and Laura, Megan (Trevor) Petersen with sons Micah, Isaac, and Eli, and Ben (Paul Rich) Owen; siblings Ron (Marilyn) Owen of Bettendorf, and Marcia Menke of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Jean Owen, and infant brother Lawrence.
