Doug Orte's Obituary
Douglas R. Orte, 76, of Clinton passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at MercyOne – Clinton.
A celebration of life will be held at the Clinton AMVETS Club from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Douglas Raymond Orte was born on December 14, 1946 in Clinton, the son of Raymond and Bessie (Parchen) Orte. He was a 1965 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Navy 1966-1968. He married Sandra Moore in December of 1967.
Doug was employed at Chemplex for many years and also at Electric Service as a safety coordinator. He was avid golfer and enjoyed history. He was a Cubs, Bears, and Hawkeye fan, and loved to play racquetball at the YMCA. He also loved to read books.
Doug is survived by his son: Stephen (Sherry) Orte of Clinton, his daughter: Stasia (Joshua) Cullinan of Clinton; and his beloved chihuahua: Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Gail “Tootsie”; and his granddaughter: Stephenie Generose Orte.
