Donald F. Steen's Obituary
Donald F. Steen, 76, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, September 15, 2024 at MercyOne-Dubuque.
Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
Donald Frederick Steen was born on March 20, 1948 in Clinton, the son of Herbert and Ruth (Camp) Steen. He was a 1966 graduate of Northeast High School and attended Waldorf College. He married Joyce Franklin on August 4, 1967 in Clarksville, Iowa.
Don was employed with the telephone company for 42 years retiring in 2008. He was also involved with the ski patrol at Chestnut Mountain for 48 years.
Don enjoyed skiing and was the National Ski Patroler of the Year from 2010-2011. He was a Jaycee-I Senator, enjoyed fishing, drinking coffee, and most of all spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his wife: Joyce of Clinton; their children: Tracy (Oscar) Madrigal of Rosenberg, Texas, Todd (Amy) Steen of Webster City, Iowa, and Jodi Chapman of Clinton; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his sister: Sharon Tinkler of Walcott, Iowa, and his brother: Gary (Monica) Steen of Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Chuck.
Memorials can be made to the Chestnut Ski Patrol.
