My condolences to Joyce and family. I met Don long before our telco days. I use to stay at my Grand Parents house at 418 N3rd st for two weeks in the late 50's and Don was always visiting just 3 doors down. What times we had then, how surprised I was to find him in the Central Office years later. Always a happy man to work with and be around. He will be missed by many.
I only have fond memories of Uncle Don, he will be missed. Sydney and I are praying for everyone in this difficult time.
Don always had a smile on his face when I stopped by his house. He always liked his chicken bakes and icecream bars and summer sausage and got upset if I didn’t have them but always gave me amazing advice, and Told me I would go far in life and never to give up. My sincerest condolences to Don's family. He was a true friend and my biggest cheerleader as I go back to school for nursing. He always made sure to let the nurses at Mercy know that I am on my way to becoming a great nurse. I didn't know who to call yesterday when I completed another clinical. At Chestnut he was a calm papa bear that held everything together, and always had and clever word to make us laugh. I am truly heartbroken, and hope that wherever he is now, he is skiing.
