Dexter T. Jensen's Obituary
Dexter T. Jensen, 86, of Camanche, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elvira Cemetery at a later date.
Dexter Thomas Jensen was born on March 6, 1929 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of George and Sarah (Dexter) Jensen. He was a 1947 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Patricia Yealy on January 13, 1949 at the First United Methodist Church, Clinton; she died August 29, 2012.
Dexter was a design draftsman for DuPont for 38 years retiring in 1984. He was also a design consultant for PSI following his retirement from DuPont.
Dexter was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served on the Camanche City Council from 1972-1980 and also served on the Camanche Civil Service Commission. He loved to play golf and fly remote controlled airplanes.
Dexter is survived by two sons: Stan and Ben Jensen of Clinton; his daughter: Maggie (Jim) Klaes of Clinton; and grandsons: Robert and Dexter Klaes.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Thomas Hunter, one daughter: Lucinda; and three sisters: Lynn, June, and Ann.
Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church – Clinton.
