Delbert Friis' Obituary
Delbert Gene Friis, 69, of Camanche, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at his home. Services will be 10 AM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Friday, March 18, 2011at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd Friis, Craig McNeil, Jason Kaczinski, Vern Marrow, Jon Lee and Tom Stearns.
Delbert was born May 1, 1941 in Clinton, the son of Eugene and Bertha (Howell) Friis. He was a 1959 Clinton High School graduate. Delbert had been employed at Chemplex for more than thirty years as Plant Superintendant and he owned and operated the Lighthouse Tavern in Camanche for twelve years.
Survivors include his children, Todd (Jana) Friis of St. Louis, MO; Molly (Jason) Kaczinski of Clinton and Heather Bulten of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Natalie, Cooper, Sophia, Max, Tessa and Theron; sisters, Rosalie Friis-Ross of Los Angeles, CA, Kaywyn Byram of Santa Teresa, NM and Rita Holm of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Richard Holm.
