Dale E. Smith, 67, of rural DeWitt, passed away, Monday, February 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Private Graveside Services will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Elvira Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes – Clinton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dale Eugene Smith was born on October 14, 1955 in DeWitt, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Helen (Oelrich) Smith. He was a 1974 graduate of Northeast High School. He married Linda Johnson on September 18, 1999.
Dale farmed for most of his life. He also drove dump trucks and delivered campers. He loved driving everything and tinkering with cars. He helped in the pit of his brother-in-law’s race car.
Dale is survived by his wife: Linda of DeWitt; two daughters: Joann Smith of DeWitt and Brandi (Mike) Pray of Low Moor; three grandchildren: Alex, Austin, and Aubree; and his sister: Debbie (Tom) King of Camanche. He was preceded in death by his parents.
