Carla J. Floming's Obituary
Carla J. Stinson Clausen Floming was born on November 16, 1940, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Edward and Elba (Engelking) Stinson. She attended schools in Mount Vernon and Clinton, Iowa, graduating from Clinton High with the great class of 1958!!! She earned her associates degree from Clinton Community College in 1988.
Carla was employed at the Clinton County Courthouse, the Miles Community School District, and Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, retiring in 2000.
Carla married Larry L. Clausen on February 24, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1984 in Miles, Iowa. She married Donovan Floming in Clinton, Iowa on June 16, 1990.
Carla enjoyed her family, friends and especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
She will lovingly be remembered by her beloved husband: Donovan "Don"; her three daughters: Kathleen (Bob) Waters of Des Moines, Elizabeth Marburger of Perry, and Jane Mickelson of Clinton; three step-daughters: Diane Dohman, Linda Floming, Donna Brolander, and step-son, Matthew Floming. Grandchildren include Emily, David, Hannah, Seth, Claire, Grace, Lillie, Kolynn, Ainsley, Milo, and Phillip. Great-grandchildren are Jonathan, Genevieve, Clarence, Hattie, Millie, Lola, Miles, Haisleigh, and Brynleigh. Niece LeAnne Stamp and nephew Keith Ockelmann. And many friends. In addition to her husband Larry, she was preceded in death by, her parents, her sister: Sheryl Ockelmann, grandson: Henry Nelson, son-in-law: Dan Marburger.
Funeral services will be at Noon, Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Albany United Methodist Church with fellowship and luncheon to follow the service. Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery and Rock Island Arsenal. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
