As a stepdaughter, I was grateful Carla welcomed me into her family and included me in many of her and my dad’s adventures. We climbed lighthouses in South Carolina and Florida, explored the historic Castillo de San Marcos Fort in St. Augustine, and stood in awe of thundering waterfalls. Some of my favorite memories are the laughs we shared-especially when we joined forces to pull a prank or two (or three!) on my dad.
