William Streed's Obituary
William S. Streed, 82, of Clinton, died, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory with Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Proko, Terry Anderson, Dennis Stull, Michael Anderson, Chad Streed, and Tracy Ruel. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Eric Streed, Stacey Hoenicke, Jeff Mueller, and Jamie Liddle. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-6:00pm at the funeral home. William Stuart Streed was born on February 18, 1929, in Jefferson County, Iowa the son of Earl and Thelma (Bridgeman) Streed. He married Donna M. Carmichael on June 1, 1948 in North Liberty, Iowa; she died on March 25, 2010. He attended Libertyville High School and served in the United States Navy from 1946-1949. He was a salesman with Hawkeye Chemical for 18 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Clinton Moose Lodge #363, a former member of the Clinton AMVETS, and a member and enjoyed playing golf at the Fulton Country Club. He is survived by two sons: Dale (Karolyn) Streed of Wyoming, Michigan, and Roger (Cathy) Streed of Camanche, Iowa; six grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Joanne Roberts of California, Beverly (Ron) Blakely of Douds, Iowa, and Karen (Lamar) Rogers of Branson, Missouri; one brother: Larry Streed of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, and one sister. Memorials can be made to the family.
