William F. Simpson's Obituary
William F. Simpson, 93, of Camanche passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in Davenport, Florida.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time at the funeral home.
William Frederick Simpson was born May 25, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harry and Edna (Miles) Simpson. He married Marilyn Hoon on February 12, 1949, in Camanche, Iowa. They had just celebrated 73 years of marriage when she passed away on May 16, 2022. Together they raised four children and were very proud of their five generation family. Bill worked at Dupont as a millwright for many years. He enjoyed time spent bowling, being outdoors, building things, tinkering with his hands, and taking the time to talk to people. He was able to put his favorite things of being outdoors and talking to people to good use and delivered newspapers in Camanche up until just a few years ago.
Bill is survived by three children: Bill (Nelly) Simpson of Camanche, Roy (Marcia) Simpson of Clinton and Mary (Melvin) Kale of Davenport, Florida; grandchildren: Chad, Michael, Sherry and Christopher; great grandchildren: Justin, Jessica, Jeffrey, Kadince, Whitly, Gracyn, Allison, Anna and Andrew; and great great grandchildren: Madelyn, Noah and Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Linda Anderson.
