William A. Schroeder's Obituary
William A. Schroeder, 88, of Clinton passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Big Meadows, Savanna, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Schroeder, Chandler Schroeder, Nate Schroeder, Jim Assenmacher, Mike Sullivan and Rick Kuehl. Visiting will be from 9:30 am until the service time on Saturday. William A. Schroeder was born September 27, 1932 in Bellevue, Iowa, the son of John and Louise (Milder) Schroeder. He was a 1951 graduate of Miles High School. He serviced in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He married Maxine Subcleff on March 14, 1964 in Clinton, Iowa; she preceded him in death on February 25, 1996.
Bill worked as a processor at Clinton Corn and then at ADM for 39 years; retiring on October 1, 1994. HE was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church in Clinton, the Spragueville American Legion and the AMVETS post #28. He enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son Mark Schroeder of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; daughter: Susan Luce of Dubuque, Iowa; five grandchildren: Samantha, Chandler, Nate, Rebecca and Anthony; four great grandchildren; and three sisters: Alberta Mommsen of Clinton, Clara Hall of Bullhead City, Arizona and Loretta Sullivan of Clinton.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine, four brothers: John, Edward, Henry and LeRoy Schroeder, and six sisters: Laura Turner, Minnie Meyer, Vera Migawa, Maleta Bott, Maxine Kuehl and Jeanette Smith.
