William McClain's Obituary
William J. McClain, 80, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Private family burial will be Friday at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
William Joseph McClain was born on October 30, 1940 in Clinton, the son of Joseph and Ethel (Williams) McClain. He was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Ellen Gundelfinger on September 20, 1958.
Bill was a union millwright at Clinton Corn for 23 years and retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company in 2001. He loved his family and wife unconditionally. He was proud of his girls. He loved to watch sports with his family especially the Cubs and the Bears. He always claimed to be a realistic fan. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.
Bill is survived by his wife Ellen; his daughters: Billie Jo (Timothy) Horner of Clinton, Barbara (Robert) Smith-Fout of Milan, Illinois, Stephany (John) McKown of Clinton, Stacey (Jason) Faur of Clinton; 14 grandchildren including a special granddaughter: Sierra McClain-Geronzin; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a granddaughter, and son-in-law.
