Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.
I feel blessed to have known Bill for these past 40+ years. His smile was so contagious and his love of life so evident. He will be missed and remembered forever. My thoughts and prayers are with his beloved family and friends.
Our deepest sympathies. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I worked at Jefferson and enjoyed when he came to sign in & go to the LRC to help out and mentor the kids. He always came in with a smile and a kind word. Even with going through his chemo, he still came to school, this past fall I worked in the LRC along side Bill and his gift of talking to people to make them feel at ease was amazing. Rest in Peace Bill.
"Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts." Thomas Hughes
Bill had that special gift, for he had countless friends, young and old, and always greeted each with a smile. He
will be greatly missed.
Dear Mrs. A,
Words can not express the love and admiration that Valda and I have for Mr. A. I know of no other person that has touched so many lives. Mr.A was/is a role model to so many of us kids. He showed us how to live, and now he has shown us how to gracefully die. Even though Mr. A has physically left our lives, his legacy lives on through David, Jill, and his many other â??kidsâ??.
All our love
Merl and Valda
Mrs A - I hope you know how much you and Mr. A meant to all of us as we were growing up all those years ago. You were always there for us and give us a wonderful foundation. Also, it meant so much to me to be visited and comforted Mr. A when my mother died. Please know that you both are though of often with much affection.
Cindy
Dear and special to me since 1953. Always "Uncle" Bill, took me for my haircuts after my father, his good friend, died. After the haircut, he took me for a popsicle or ice cream. He has always been an important part of our lives and a constant joy to know. He reached so many and all will remember the twinkle in his eye and his love of people. My love to "Aunt" San, Dave, Jill and their families. Ed
Dear San and family...Dave and I were saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He was such a dear man and we will always remember his kindness and lighthearted ways. He will be missed by all that knew him...
I suspect tears are flowing among the Clinton kids who were fortunate to have Bill as a Sunday School teacher or classroom tutor.
I can't recall an official family gathering in Iowa City with my Hicks cousins that didn't include our unofficial aunts and uncles, San and Bill Anderson. And lucky for us! San and Bill always made us laugh plenty.
Wish I could have been in on the annual Christmas cookie-baking weekend with the Andersons and Aunt Pat. If those events had been recorded, I'm confident they would have gone viral on You Tube.
Later, San and Bill were stellar hosts when Team Not Exactly and RAGBRAI finished our ride in Clinton. They made fast friends among our group.
San and Bill kept us in stitches with funniest holiday letters, many of which we've saved (someplace). Yes, and always the first letter to arrive in our mailbox.
