William Allen's Obituary
William L. Allen, 84, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at the Stone Hill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Graveside Services will be Noon, Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. The Moline American Legion will conduct military honors. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. William L. Allen was born on July 21, 1924 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of John and Anna (Griffin) Allen. William was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army from 1942-1946. William was a self-employed carpenter and handyman serving the Clinton area for many years. William is survived by one sister: Sr. Annina Allen, BVM of Dubuque, and several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
